A two-year undercover operation has resulted in indictments alleging violation of federal laws that prohibit excavating and selling archaeological and American Indian artifacts on federal and tribal lands. The indictments led to an early morning sweep across Utah, Colorado, and New Mexico. Archaeologists assisted law enforcement in identifying the artifacts.
