ACS biologist teaches workshop at 2018 Wildlife Techniques Workshop of the Arizona Chapter of the Wildlife Society

ACS Biologist Stephanie Cobbold gave a workshop at the annual Wildlife Techniques Workshop, an event sponsored by the Arizona Game and Fish Department, to provide students and new professionals the opportunity to learn field techniques and gain experience from working professionals. Dr. Cobbold explained and demonstrated the use of several methods that are commonly used to sample and describe the composition of invertebrate communities, including the use of pitfall traps, the sweep netting technique, and the beating sheet technique. Participants had the opportunity to try these methods in the field to investigate spider communities in a portion of Horseshoe Ranch, where the workshop was held.
